Governance & Leadership

RIRA is committed to the highest standards of accountability and transparency. Our governance structure is designed to ensure robust oversight, strategic direction, and effective management, keeping our mission at the forefront of everything we do.

RIRA is committed to the highest standards of accountability and transparency. Our governance structure is designed to ensure robust oversight, strategic direction, and effective management, keeping our mission at the forefront of everything we do.

Our leadership is comprised of three main bodies:

The General Assembly

The General Assembly is the highest governing body of RIRA. It is a diverse collective composed of our founding members, Board members, and influential community stakeholders, including local leaders, women’s advocates,

artists, and respected elders. Meeting annually, the Assembly is responsible for setting organizational policy, approving annual plans and budgets, and making key strategic decisions for RIRA’s future.

The Board of Directors

Elected by the General Assembly for two-year terms, our Board of Directors is responsible for executing policy and overseeing the management of the organization. The Board meets on a quarterly basis to review program progress, financial performance, and operational efficiency. Our dedicated board members serve voluntarily and in an unpaid capacity, demonstrating a profound commitment to RIRA’s mission.

The Secretariat (Executive Team)

The Secretariat is the operational heart of RIRA, responsible for implementing our programs and managing day-to-day activities. This team is led by our Executive Director and includes dedicated staff at our head office and our field offices, such as project coordinators and field officers who work directly with the communities we serve.
